AMC renews ‘Hell on Wheels’
The epic Western “Hell on Wheels” will get a second season, AMC announced today.
“Wheels” had been overshadowed. The series didn’t garner the acclaim of Showtime’s “Homeland,” which also aired at 10 p.m. Sundays. And “Wheels” didn’t generate the excitement of AMC’s “Walking Dead,” the channel’s most popular series.
But AMC stressed that “Wheels” is its No. 2-rated series. (It has followed “The Walking Dead.”)
The first season of “Wheels” ends Jan. 15. Anson Mount and Common are the stars of the sturdy, violent series about the building of the railroad.
