‘Dancing With the Stars’: Isn’t it time for Nancy Grace to go?

“Dancing With the Stars” promised some scary routines tonight for Halloween. The show did not disappoint, especially when Nancy Grace danced.

Here’s how the night unfolded:

David Arquette played a magician who conjured partner Kym Johnson for a so-so cha-cha-cha. He was energetic but not smooth. Still, Len Goodman liked the footwork, and Carrie Ann Inaba praised Arquette’s improvement. Scores: 24 out of 30 points.

J.R. Martinez delivered a tango to “Ghostbusters.”  The routine had too many distracting tricks at the start, but the dancing was good once it started.  Bruno Tonioli saw a solid performance even though Martinez lost the timing a few times. Goodman thought it was substandard for Martinez, the show’s front-runner. Scores: 25, with 9 from Inaba.

Nancy Grace looked lost and lethargic on a jive. Her wig was nice, though. Inaba said that Grace lost the choreography a few times. A disappointment, Goodman ruled. Tonioli said Grace looked devilish but her footwork was lacking. Scores: 21. Grace did not concur and said the dance was better than that.

Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke danced a stylish tango to “The Addams Family.” The costumes, the footwork, the attitude – everything came together. It was his best dance so far in the contest. A terrific job, Goodman ruled. Scores: 25 points, with 9 from Inaba.

Ricki Lake fought pain in her rib cage to dance. She played Little Red Riding Hood on a demanding paso doble and kept pace with partner Derek Hough. Incredible, Tonioli gushed. Goodman raved over the fantastic shapes she made in the dance. Scores: 27 points.

Hope Solo loosened up and had fun tangling with Wolfman Maksim Chmerkovskiy on the samba. She had more energy than usual, although fog on the dance floor made it hard to gauge her footwork. After the fireworks last week between Maks and the judges, diplomacy flourished tonight. The judges liked what they saw. Scores: 24.

Then it was time for the team dances. Team Tango featured Grace, Arquette and Martinez. Goodman praised the group dance, but said the individual couples were disastrous. Points: 23.

Team Paso brought together Lake, Solo and Kardashian. It was the showier and more difficult routine of the two group dances. Derek Hough pulled off some amazing dance steps, and he also wins points for being so nice to Solo in practice when Maks was nasty. Tonioli called the ending fantastic. Goodman much preferred these individual dances. Points:  26 points, with 8 from Goodman.

The results will be announced in a show that starts at 9 p.m. Tuesday on WFTV-Channel 9. Justin Bieber will perform two songs. Just think: This season will end in three weeks.
