WMFE raises $30,000 with most recent TV pledge drive

Public broadcaster WMFE-Ch. 24 raised $30,094 with a pledge drive last weekend.

The PBS station has raised $105,000 this month to help cut a $130,000 shortfall from the August pledge drive. The fiscal year ends Thursday.

Jose Fajardo, president and CEO of WMFE, said last week that a shortfall could mean additional cuts to the budget.

WMFE has had more success with radio pledge drives. The most recent one raised $228,000, surpassing the $220,000 goal. Fajardo says that success indicates that listeners have embraced 90.7-FM’s change to an all news-format.
